Background of Telemedicine Project
July 2005 marked the beginning of the project Graduate Course on Telemedicine for University of California Davis Health System with the designated Instructor of Record, Peter Yellowlees and the eventual hiring of Maria Lorna A. Kunnath, Ed. D. as Analyst/Researcher and Curriculum Designer and Developer. Five to six months of intensive research on the subject matter ensued thereafter resulting in a mix of learning resources from articles, research papers, to a variety of multimedia content (both new and pre-existing inhouse ones). This phase was also complemented by regular weekly meetings between the Instructor and the Analyst to guarantee common understanding of subject matter. No other individual participated nor contributed in these regular updates. Discussions and conclusions derived from these weekly meetings were to form the basis of commonly agreed Course Curriculum Syllabus Outline (view 'syllabus' on Project Timeline below).
Maria Lorna A. Kunnath is the only person who researched, designed, developed the curriculum outline and built the entire MDI 211 multimedia course. For DVD burning, copying and distribution to graduate students she was assisted by Calvin Chang, Jennifer Banister and Christine Hotz.
